Angie Muñoz Interview

Angie is such a beautiful soul and amazing artist! We got to know each other through Milan Art Institute as we both started studying the Mastery Program at the same time.

After having several conversations with each other I found out that she doesn’t just create art, but she teaches others how to make art also with her Nonprofit, ACA Explorers.

I wanted to find out more about her organisations which she runs with one other member as well as share her art with you, my beautiful readers!

Check out her interview below:

Nadine: What's your name, where are you from and what do you do?

Angie: My name is Angie Muñoz. I'm from Colombia and I'm an artist and teacher at a nonprofit.

N: How and when did you get into art? Your paintings are absolutely stunning!

A: Since I was a kid I liked to draw! I've been painting since I was 15 years old!

N: Tell us about your Non-profit organisation, ACA Explorers. I think that's amazing that you are giving back to your community.

A: ACA Explorers is a young nonprofit where we provide people with education and all they need! All of the programs we have are for free.

N: Walk us through a day in the life of Angie.

A: Well, my day is pretty chill sometimes. I wake up at kind of 6 or when I'm too lazy at 8 haha. Usually I don't cook breakfast, I take my dog out and then start working or studying at Milan Art Institute (Online Mastery Program)! Usually I have a class or two per day at the nonprofit, when I take the class or I give it! Sometimes I read or watch a movie, eat A LOOTTT during the day haha and then I go to sleep kind of at 10pm.

N: Where do you get the inspiration for your art? Any tips for creative block?

A: My inspiration for paint comes from the beauty of nature! I love painting expressive things! Especially women's bodies!

My tip could be just find out what you feel passionate about that you cant even put into words! And the only way to show it to the world is through paint.

N: You are currently studying the Milan Art Institute Online Mastery Program at the same time as me! What do you hope to learn during this course and how do you want it to inform what you currently do for ACA Explorers?

A: YEESS we are taking the Mastery Program together, It’s been wonderful! It feels really great for me because all that I'm learning at Milan (Art Institute) is helping me out to become a better teacher! I’m teaching my students something now that in the future they are gonna teach it to others. so the chain keeps going.

N: Any exciting projects in the works/coming up soon?

A: Yes, I want to do many things through ACA Explorers. We primarily focus on low income areas of colombia. So we provide them with something that is sadly seen more like a privilege than a right! So, I want to expand and reach more people teaching them art and help them to believe that they can make a living through art.

N: What tips can you give an aspiring artist?

A: My tip is just "believe in yourself, believe you can do it! Many people around see you as an inspiration, see you as a model, like someone to follow! Just believe it"

Thank you so much Angie!!

ACA Explorers is having a fundraising event on July 4th 2021 to raise some money to expand their programs! Many people want to join their classes, but they currently aren’t at the capacity to accept them.

The event is in the form of a raffle with the winner receiving a custom painting! Their goal is to raise £1500. Don’t miss the chance to win an amazing custom painting!
